I really have to thank The Rangerlord for this find--it seems everything that Ive gotten ahead of most has come from him using his mutant super power of being at the right store at the right time. No matter how remote the store, no matter how obscure the location, The Rangerlord will be there!
I gotta be honest: the first thing I thought when I had him in hand (in package) was that he was a tad small. I was expecting an Iron Monger-sized figure in height or at the very least a figure comparable in girth to the Marvel Universe Hulk. As it turns out, Hulkbuster Iron Man is neither. But while he wasnt as bulky or as tall as expected, the sculpt certainly doesnt disappoint in terms of detail.
The trademark forearm and shoulder guards are also there, with the shoulder guards cast from separate pieces of hard plastic and are glued into slots in his shoulders. While theyre supposed to be part of his shoulders, the guards are actually fixed to hover over his shoulders and look flimsy from a bottom up angle. I wonder if they wouldve been better to cast them in a softer plastic and let them float lower so the gaps over the shoulder wouldnt be so apparent.
His forearm and shin guards are made of softer rubber, which his shoulders shouldve been. This I think is great-- it wont crack or chip as easily as a hard plastic piece. But while the shin guards are part of the lower leg mould, the forearm guards, like the shoulder guards, are also separate pieces that are glued on. The great thing about the forearm shields are that they are attached to Hulkbuster IMs fist, making them look flexible as well as sturdy no matter which way youve got his hands positioned. Its also worth noting that his triangular chest arc reactor vent is a glued-on piece of plastic, so if youll want to watch out for glue stains around the chest when picking this guy up.
Aside from the hovering shoulder guards, Hulkbuster IM has a fantastic sculpt that ranks up there with one of the best Marvel has produced in this scale.
Most of this figure isnt painted, with everything sculpted in a dark red and only his golden parts painted. As simple as his face is, the gold isnt cleanly applied with both spills over into the seams of the faceplate and sloppy under-painting in the areas which havent been over painted. His eyes and seams at the cheeks are supposed to be white (or silver?) to indicate light but because of the way the face has been mispainted, it simply looks unfinished.
A minor problem that might bother some of you is that since his limbs and head are cast from softer plastic and his torso is made of harder stuff, the colour isnt quite a match--while his chest has a nice muted shiny gloss, his head and limbs have a matte finish. Despite this, the colours are close enough that you wont notice the difference unless you look really closely.
So hes not as large as Iron Monger or the Hulk, but hes still just as bulky as two Iron Man 2 figures put together. Nevermind that he doesnt come with any accessories other than his figure stand and 3 armour cards, hes still worth his weight in sculpting and detail. So he may not have the best paint, but he does have lots of added parts that are not part of the base mold like the shoulder pieces, the forearms guards and the chest arc reactor vent. He also has new “ball” joint pieces which will please those who didnt like the old ones.
I originally didnt intend to get the Kimono Girl. The Rangerlord wanted her but not me.
Dislike: That she doesnt have legs. I know, I know, how can she, since shes wearing a voluminous dress, right? I guess its just the action figure collector is me--the more moving parts the better. Thats not to say she doesnt look like shes wearing a dress and looking feudally gorgeous, because thats exactly what she s doing!

If you havent read it already, the review for this guy is up on Articulated Discussion! If youre eager to see what Tony Starks new armor in the movie will look like 3.75" scale, then youll wanna head on over right now! But if you wanna have an even closer look, then youll have to get the toy!
And why wouldnt you? Why wouldnt anyone? After the disappointment of the Mark III, how will this slick piece work from of Tony Starks armory work out?
I think the bio speaks for itself: The Mk VI is nearly unstoppable! So now we know wholl emerge triumphant in Iron Man 2! Wha...You mean you knew already? Eh?...Otherwise the movie wouldnt be called "Iron Man 2"?
The other great thing is the paint. The half-armor is nicely painted on the torso and top of legs as are his boots but the nicest touch comes in the form of the painted-on right arm armor. This figures s one of the best looking minifigs to date!
Like: The usable gun carrying case is cool but the what I dig the most are the snazzy pinstripes of his suit. Theres something impeccable about it that screams mobster before you even get to the case, the pistol and the hat. I also love the wide grin and the evil mustache on this guy--Its just the right amount of gangster!
Goes well with: Two-Face! Thats the first thing that comes to mind--that hell be perfect as cronies for the Batman supervillain! (Though itll be tough finding those Batman minifigs unless you bought them up when they were still in stores some years ago.) The mobsters the only gangster so far in the Minifigs series so lets hope they come up with more in varying suit colors like white (which is technically not a color but bleargh.)
Goes well with: The Clown from series 1, naturally! But like the mobster/gangster belongs with Two-Face, I imagine this clown (or more than one of him) as members of Lego Joker and Harley Quinns gang!
Goes well with: The dwarves that have been released so far, of course. Hes another member of their ogre-slaying, ale-drinking, bellyaching band. From the series, he goes perfectly with the elf from Series 3 and the Forestman/Robin Hood from Series 1. Heck, hed go well with any medieval sets. Ooh and lets not forget those goblins from the old Kingdom Lego sets. Since this guys name is officially "Evil Dwarf", then he could be the goblins rightfully elected leader!
Goes well with: Perhaps the cheerleader from Series 1? Or maybe another thousand or so graduates! ;P

Like: The monkey that fits on her hand and the over-sized banana are hilarious. But other than that shes pretty "normal" as far as minifigs go...except...the buckles, buttons and key on here outfit--their all painted gold! :)
Like: The working magnifying glass, the Sherlock cap and the Sherlock checkered designs on his front of his body and sides of his cap. I also like that they gave him gray sideburns! :)
I did wish they gave him a half-cape though--Sherlock is the guy who can rock the look in Scotland Yard all day, every day!
The other thing I love is the gold in this minifig! The patterns in his shorts-top, his shorts stripes and...his mouthguard! Usually Lego keeps there faces "generic" or minimally painted to maximize re-use. In this case, they took and existed smirk head and gave it a little swish of gold. Perfect.
If you have a blank black head (like those you find is stormtroopers) the Lizard Man can truly become fully beast! 
But this guy is different. The only thing that he shares with the Series Fisherman is the rod and the fish. Otherwise hes got more of a theme--hes arctic! At a distance, he might look pretty plain but thats because of the uniform kaki color of his parka and stuff. Up close, his fur-lined hoodie is excellently painted, as is the detail on the front of his body and his legs. Im actually liking this guy a lot more now that Ive had a good look at him! 
Maybe its because I spent too long in Minnesota.
Goes well with: Werewolf (Red Riding Hood thing) or take off his cap, give him some wild upturned hair and some claws and you have lumberjack Wolverine!
Like: 
In minifig terms, its gold all over the front of her dress, complemented by the tiara on her head. I especially like the hair with the tiara painted on it. 
The other thing that intrigues me is the rubbery hair. I like the softer look of it--its not shiny and is a great shade of light brown because of the material used. It even looks like it could have been given a light wash, but thats a trick of light on the rubbery material.
Having the bone be removable means that you have a nice little doggie bone. It also means you can hold all sorts of stuff in the hairdo: a lovely pink bow, a fishing rod, an axe, a lightsaber...Crap just tends to get stuck in your hair when you dont have shampoo to wash it out with!
